A day late but Merry Christmas everyone!!

Stalls and exhibitions

So I've been an incredibly busy bee recently and not had time for much else other than selling my Christmas cards, stalls and exhibitions.
Firstly I was involved in The Macmillan Art show. It was a great exhibition where 1 out of 2 of my pieces were sold and all my cards on sale too. They made £19,000 on the opening night alone and I believe £40,000 overall which is an amazing amount so I was super happy to be part of it!

Also I did some stalls at my local church, Newbattle Abbey college and at Artroom 32 selling prints, cards and frames. This is me on my stall :)

A week today I'll be selling my work here at the Newbattle Abbey college christmas fayre in Dalkeith. I'll be selling prints of my work but also my new christmas cards so come along if you can. Be a great arts and crafts day for adults and children I'm told :)

Creative meadows exhibition

Sorry I've not been around much guys.
Been away on holiday and doing stalls and an exhibition, so been very busy but expect to see lots of new artwork up soon. Got lots of ideas for new peices when I was away on holiday.

Earlier this month I took part in an exhibition "Creative Meadows" which is a new community keen to help students and graduates get their artwork seen. It was a great night. I managed to sell alot of my work and it was seen by alot of people which was my main priority. They are hoping to do more exhibitions in the near future which I'll be taking part in again. Ohh deer competition

Guys I need your help 

I entered a competition on the website Ohh Deer and anyone can enter to upload their artwork on to products which are available to buy.The prize is being a regular art contributor to the website and I need you to buy products of my work and help me possibly get a job!

They informed me yesterday that someone bought this "husky wink" cover for an iphone woop woop! :D Damn it's such a good feeling when someone buys your artwork. A few different pieces of my work is available in the competition shop til 5th july so if you would like to buy anything please do. I only get 20% of the profits aswell, which is nothing! so I really need your help.

Arts market

Next weekend I will be selling my work at Out of the Blue again. Got these 5 new card designs (along with 11 other designs I have already) and lots of  frames pictures and prints.

Illustration Friday - "Sweet"

I wanted to do a cute message for Illustration friday's topic this week "sweet". What better way to relate it  to someone wanting to make their dreams come true. Exactly what I'd do for someone if I could too :)

painting commission

So firstly today I had another art stall on at my church and did well selling around £100 worth or frames, cards, mounts and canvases - a good day's work!

And finally I have my first paid commission painting finished yay! It's always nice to be paid aswell doing something you love. It was painted from a photograph and I'm pleased with how it's turned out. Though it's just paint it does make me realise how much I enjoy drawing nature whether its animals or trees and just making it slightly magical in some way. I think it's kind of the direction I want to take my artwork and define my style as an artist. Sooo anyway here is the process and the finished work. .

At the weekend I had a stall on at the arts market at out of the blue in Leith Walk. Here are pictures of me being lovely and friendly on the stall :) It went fairly well - managed to sell lots of my greeting cards and an original framed piece which I was very pleased with. All the canvases will be available to buy at the next stall I'm doing which will be at my church next month. Details to follow.

Out of the Blue arts market

Ohhh exciting!
I shall be doing a stall at Out of the blue arts market next month. I'll be selling mostly illustration work but also some photography too. Theres also lots of yummy food at the cafe if your feeling a bit pekish too. Hope to all see you there, it would be lovely to have lots of support :)

Easter cards

My easter cards are all finished and printed.

 I'm pleased at the feedback I've gotten and have managed to sell 125 cards so far!

My exhibition

Exciting news folks a few of my pieces of art are now up in a gallery :)

The exhibition is called "New Beginnings" and along with lots and lots of lovely artwork too. If you'd like to come and see the exhibition you are more than welcome. It is currently running on til the end of March (weekends only) at the Gallery at the Corn Exchange in Biggar. I have 2 framed pieces up on the wall and several in the browser tray too - the deer picture I've been informed has been sold now yey!

Starting work on my easter cards and feeling like Beatrix potter!

 Firstly I soaked the page with tea to get that lovely antique look and then drew with pencil on top to mark in all the fine details

My latest piece of art shows my love of trees (again) and how I am enjoying focusing on more fantasy aspects of my artwork. I like looking at things which make me go "Wow, I wish that existed" so I'm trying to focus on that in my artwork. Makes things a little more interesting I think. 

This took what seemed like forever to do but I'm really happy with how this has turned out, best thing I've done in a long time so it was definitely worth it :)
